Privacy Policy

Seaglass TV is made by Sand Point Studios LLC, a software studio in Michigan, USA. This policy covers the Seaglass TV app for Google TV and Android tablets, the Seaglass Remote phone app, and this website.

The short version: Seaglass TV works on your TV. It has no accounts, no ads and no analytics, and it doesn't send your viewing or your details to us.

What stays on your TV

Everything Seaglass TV needs to work is stored on the TV or tablet it's installed on, and nowhere else:

• The channel lists from sources you add, your categories, favourites and hidden channels.
• What you were watching, so you can pick up where you left off, and any reminders you set.
• Sign-in details for TV services you add. These are kept on the TV so it can connect to those services for you.

Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in your TV's settings, deletes all of it.

Who the app talks to

• Services you add. The app connects directly to the TV services you choose. They see your connection the way they would with any app, under their own privacy policies.
• Subtitles, only when you ask. Searching for subtitles sends the title you're watching, and an identifier for the video file, to OpenSubtitles.com.

Seaglass TV doesn't send information about you or what you watch to Sand Point Studios. If we add an optional paid feature that needs our servers, such as syncing your setup between TVs, we'll update this policy before it's released and explain exactly what it stores.

Your phone

You can set up and browse Seaglass TV from your phone. Your phone talks to your TV over your home network, and pairing needs the six-digit code shown on the TV, so other devices on the network can't take control. That connection doesn't go through us.

Microphone

Live captions use your TV's microphone permission so Android's on-device speech recognition can caption what's playing. Seaglass TV only asks for this when you turn live captions on. The app doesn't record or keep audio, and doesn't send it to us.

Notifications

If you set reminders, the app asks permission to show notifications on your TV. Reminders are scheduled on the TV itself.

What we don't do

• No accounts, advertising, analytics or tracking in the app.
• We don't sell or share personal information.
• This website uses no cookies and no analytics.

This website

Our web host, Cloudflare, processes standard request information such as IP addresses to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. If you email us, we use your address to reply, or to tell you once when Seaglass TV launches if that's what you asked for, and we'll delete it on request.

Children

Seaglass TV isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date before the change takes effect.
